In 2019, I managed social media and email marketing for the Bonjour Perth Festival, achieving 22% Facebook follower growth and impressive engagement.
The brief
Bonjour Perth is an annual volunteer-run cultural festival celebrating French and francophone cultures. Their digital presence had historically been inconsistent – they’d have bursts of promotional activity in the lead-up to their annual event, but their channels would lie largely dormant the rest of the year. In their fifth year, I was approached to create an ongoing strategy to build an engaged community of followers online and attract a strong turnout for the two-day festival.
The strategy
Based on analysis of audience data and past post insights, I developed and delivered a social media strategy across their Facebook and Instagram accounts. I created and curated content year-round, not just promoting the Bonjour Perth Festival but covering topics that were interesting and informative to the audience of people from the French-speaking community and lovers of French language and culture.
The results
Thanks to my social media strategy and management throughout 2019, the Bonjour Perth Festival experienced 22.4% Facebook follower growth in under a year, consistently strong post reach and engagement, and 50% increase in responses to the Facebook event compared to the previous year.
